Certificate of Competence

CPD is mandatory for all A-Grade and B-Grade Certificate of Competence holders. This is required by Regulation 43 of Health and Safety (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulation 2016.

Certificate of Competence holders must follow the CPD Guidelines and must record their CPD activities and key learnings from their CPD activities, in a WorkSafe endorsed CPD logbook.

The IOQ NZ supports its Certificate of Competence holders by assisting in developing, maintaining and reviewing CPD Logbooks and Evidence requirements. This is a complimentary service and is offered mainly by the Education Officer.

Education

Non-Certificate of Competence extractive industry professionals are encouraged to participate in Continuing Professional Development to gain and enhance knowledge, expertise and capability.
