When Murray Discombe received a call today from IOQNZ President, Gavin Hartley, (attending the Australian Annual Conference in Melbourne) he thought that Gavin needed information. Wrong ! It was the best news he had ever had – a call to advise him that the paper he presented at the NZ Annual Conference had now been voted by the Presidents of international IOQ branches as “Best International paper”.
“Winning two awards for my paper “Lateral Spread & Liquefaction” has demonstrated to me that people are interested in what the Christchurch residents tolerate each day in their earthquake-torn city…. It’s a great honour”, he said
Congratulations are in order. (NZ received the Caernarfon Award in 2011 as well)
