In 2009 the IOQ was privileged to witness the dedication of one of its members – Selwyn Dodd, Quarry Manager at Winstone Aggregates Otaika Quarry, Whangarei. Not only did he attend all the Auckland Branch Meetings, but he “stepped up to the plate” to fill the void left in the Northland Branch when Dennis Cochrance passed away last March.
Selwyn’s efforts were rewarded when 82 attended the first 2009 Northland branch meeting in June. George Kelcher (left) presents the RD Hassed Memorial Trophy, a fitting recognition for Selwyn’s dedication. |
