It is with a heavy heart we advise that Ivan Graham Morice passed away 12 Dec 2019.
Ivan joined what was then known as the Department of Labour’s Quarry & Mines Inspectorate team in 2012 based in South Auckland. He quickly became well-known to the quarry staff wherever he visited in his rounds promoting good safety practices and in his own quiet manner encouraged changes whenever things were not quite right. When WorkSafe NZ was created he continued to hold the safety flag very high.
Ivan rarely missed a local IOQNZ Auckland Branch meeting and formed part of the Health & Safety technical discussions held annually in conjunction with the AGMs. We understand he also planned his trips to coincide with other local IOQNZ branch meetings.
Nothing seemed to get Ivan flustered – his smiley face will be missed by us all.
