Four highly experienced extractives industry practitioners have been appointed by WorkSafe for three year terms to the New Zealand Mining Board of Examiners.
The four are returning members David Stewart, Marianne Rogers and Bernie O’Leary and new member Brian Bouzaid.
These changes are part of the regular cycle that all boards go through as terms end and the mix of skills of the members is reviewed and adjusted to meet requirements.
“All the board members bring a valuable mix of skills, experience and knowledge of the extractives sector, as well as a passion for and strong commitment to health and safety in the extractives industry,” said WorkSafe New Zealand Chief Executive Nicole Rosie.
Ms Rosie said new appointee Brian Bouzaid will also bring valuable experience and is a welcome addition to the Board.“Brian comes to the Board with over 30 years’ experience in the quarrying sector. He has had significant governance experience with governance roles within IoQ, Civil Contractors, MinEx, Exito and is currently the Chair of the MITO Industry Council.
“Mr Bouzaid’s broad governance experience and current role within MITO as well as his extensive networks in quarrying and training will be of great benefit to the Board,” Ms Rosie said.
