Lifetime Certificate of Competence holders’ requirements:
WorkSafe New Zealand has published prescribed competency requirements for Certificate of Competence (CoC) holders who have a ‘lifetime CoC’ (i.e. with no expiry date).
These requirements have been gazetted.
Under clause 7(5) of Schedule 1 of the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016, a quarry manager’s lifetime CoC remains in force on that basis as long as the holder on and after 1 January 2018, complies with WorkSafe-prescribed competency requirements and continuing education requirements.
