Operations Manager.

Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd is a leading supplier of cement, aggregates, ready mixed concrete and lime. Its involvement in the New Zealand building industry dates back to 1888, and today it operates more than 37 sites and employs approximately 500 people. It is part of the Holcim Group which is represented in over 70 countries.

Reporting to the National Aggregates Manager, this role contributes to the long term sustainable profitability of the Aggregates Division through the planning, direction and coordination of activities at our Bombay Quarry.

We are seeking a results driven person with the ability to make sound decisions within a complex operating environment. Strong leadership is required in the areas of safety, environmental management systems, sales management, quality assurance and optimising plant performance. A focus on staff development and succession planning as well as meeting the demands of both internal and external customers is essential.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A minimum of five years experience within the Quarrying Industry
Extensive people management experience
A tertiary qualification
Well developed project management and analytical skills
A track record of providing superior customer service

Transdiesel is well established and renowned as a leading marketing, distribution and service company supplying the quarrying / mining and construction markets, and an employer of choice in this sector. Within the Equipment Division this is a critical technical sales role working in tandem with the commercial team. The role will involve working very closely with the sales team to develop existing and new customer relationships and business through proactive scoping of opportunities. A key function of this role will be providing technical support for the sales team and clients.

We require your background to be engineering / production / process based and with significant experience working in either a leadership or technical role in quarrying / mining or supplying crushing and screening equipment to this sector. Relevant qualifications are desirable.
